Terms of Use – GiggleFace
Last updated: August 4, 2026
These Terms of Use govern your use of GiggleFace on iOS and macOS. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms.
1. Purpose
GiggleFace is a creative camera application that lets users import images, create and adjust face masks, apply them to the front camera in real time, record videos with audio, share mask files, and provide a virtual camera feed to compatible macOS applications.
2. License and Acceptable Use
The developer grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use GiggleFace on supported Apple devices under these terms and Apple's platform rules. The app is provided for lawful personal and professional creative use.
You may not reverse engineer, copy, modify, resell, rent, or redistribute the application or its proprietary assets except where applicable law expressly permits it.
3. Images, Masks, and User Content
You are responsible for every image, mask, recording, and camera output you create, import, display, transmit, or share through GiggleFace. You must own the content or have all necessary licenses, permissions, and consents, including permission to use another person's image, likeness, or intellectual property.
GiggleFace does not grant you rights to images obtained from websites, social networks, photo libraries, friends, or other sources. Importing an image does not remove copyright, privacy, publicity, trademark, or contractual restrictions that apply to it.
4. Prohibited Uses
You may not use GiggleFace to create, display, record, or distribute content that:
- Is unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, defamatory, threatening, abusive, or harassing;
- Impersonates another person in a way intended to deceive, defraud, or cause harm;
- Violates privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, or other rights;
- Contains sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate content, or any content that endangers minors;
- Breaks the rules of a video-call, messaging, storage, workplace, school, or other third-party service.
You are responsible for making any disclosure required by law, policy, or context when a mask or altered camera feed could reasonably mislead others.
5. Permissions and Recording
Camera, microphone, photo library, and file access depend on permissions you control through iOS or macOS. Some features will not work if the required permission is denied. You are responsible for obtaining consent before recording or transmitting another person's image or voice and for complying with local recording laws.
6. Virtual Camera and Third-Party Services
GiggleFace can provide a virtual camera to macOS apps that support compatible camera inputs, including Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and FaceTime. Support can vary by app version, macOS version, hardware, permissions, security settings, and service configuration. Compatibility with every service or future version is not guaranteed.
Third-party communication, sharing, and storage services are independent from GiggleFace. Their availability, transmission, recording, moderation, and data practices are governed by their own terms and policies.
7. GiggleFace Premium
GiggleFace may be downloaded for free. Custom mask creation and other Premium features are unlocked through a single non-consumable in-app purchase. There is no recurring GiggleFace subscription for this Premium access.
Apple processes pricing, billing, taxes, purchase verification, restoration, and refund requests. Restoration requires the Apple ID used for the eligible original purchase and depends on Apple's systems. A one-time purchase does not guarantee that every feature, third-party integration, or operating-system compatibility will remain unchanged indefinitely.
8. Offline Operation and Connectivity
Core camera, mask, facial landmark, editor, and recording processing is designed to run locally. Internet access may still be required for downloading the app, TestFlight, purchases and restoration, importing content from an online service, sending anonymous analytics and error diagnostics, sharing through online apps, and participating in video calls.
9. Intellectual Property
You retain the rights you already hold in your imported images, original mask files, and recordings. All rights in GiggleFace itself—including its name, design, branding, source code, interface, and included assets—belong to the developer and/or Adriano Souza Costa unless otherwise stated.
10. Performance and Limitation of Liability
GiggleFace is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Recording at up to 60 fps depends on supported hardware, selected settings, storage, system load, and thermal conditions.
To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not responsible for:
- Lost, corrupted, incomplete, or unavailable masks, recordings, or exports;
- Performance limits, overheating, battery use, storage limits, permission errors, or device incompatibility;
- Interruptions or changes made by Apple or third-party communication and sharing services;
- Claims, losses, or disputes resulting from content you create, import, transmit, record, or share.
11. Updates and Availability
The developer may update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features to address security, compatibility, legal, or product requirements. Continued use may require a supported version of iOS, macOS, GiggleFace, or a third-party app.
12. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated to reflect legal, technical, or product changes. Continued use after revised terms become available means you accept the updated terms to the extent permitted by law.
