Privacy Policy – Pillo
Last updated: October 20, 2026
1. Scope and contact
This policy covers the Pillo: Medicine Expiry Dates app for iPhone (Pillo: Validade de Remédios on the App Store), including test versions distributed through TestFlight, provided by Adriano Souza Costa. Send privacy questions or requests to [email protected]. The website's privacy preferences are separate from the app's.
2. No account
Pillo does not require sign-up and does not ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts or location.
3. Your medicines stay on your iPhone
Each medicine's name, expiry date, batch, registration number and barcode, the photo of the box, the leaflet summary and the reminders you choose are stored only on your device. The photo is reduced and saved without location data. This information is not sent to any Pillo server.
4. Camera
The camera is used only to read the box while you scan a medicine. Text and barcode recognition happens on the iPhone itself, with Apple's frameworks, and the photo of the box is kept only when you save the medicine. If you do not allow camera access, you can type the details in.
5. Medicine information lookup
To show what a medicine is for and the leaflet summary, Pillo looks up public information from ANVISA, Brazil's health agency, through the Pillo information service. Each lookup sends only one of these: the barcode, the registration number or the name of the medicine. Photos, expiry dates, batches and anything that identifies you are not sent. As with any internet connection, the service receives the technical data it needs to reply, such as the IP address, which is not used to identify you. When you tap Ver bula completa, ANVISA's Electronic Leaflet Library website opens inside the app and follows that website's privacy rules.
6. Reminders
Expiry reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device, not sent by a server. Pillo asks for permission to send notifications, and you can change it at any time in iOS Settings; without it, reminders do not appear.
7. Maps
When you tap Encontrar ponto de coleta, Pillo opens a search in Apple Maps. Maps may use your location according to your settings and Apple's privacy policy; Pillo does not receive that location.
8. No analytics, ads or tracking
Pillo does not use usage analytics services, does not show ads, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
9. Sharing
We do not sell or rent your data. The only data that leaves the device is the lookup described in section 5, used only to answer it.
10. Retention, deletion and privacy requests
Your medicines stay on the device until you discard them in the app, which deletes the medicine and its reminders, or until you delete the app. iPhone backups, in iCloud or on a computer, may include the app's data according to your settings. Support emails are kept as long as needed to answer the request. For access, correction, deletion or other rights under privacy laws, including Brazil's LGPD, write to [email protected]. Because we do not collect data that identifies you, we may need some information to understand the request.
11. Security and children
We use iOS security features. No storage or transmission method is fully secure, so protect your device with a passcode. Pillo does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents or guardians who believe a child sent personal information through support can contact us so we can review and handle the request.
12. Changes
We will update this page and the revision date when our practices change, with any additional notice or consent required by applicable law.
